If you’ve ever dealt with flies or gnats buzzing around your home, you know how quickly these pests can go from being a minor annoyance to a constant frustration. That’s why I was curious to test the Catchmaster Window Fly Traps, a low-cost and low-effort option for dealing with household pests. At just $10.99 for a 12-pack, they work out to less than a dollar per strip—cheaper than most sprays or electric bug zappers, and without the smell, noise, or mess.

    Best Budget Fly Trap

Installation couldn’t be simpler. You just peel off the backing, press the slim, transparent strip directly onto a window or glass door, and remove the front liner to expose the sticky surface. I stuck a few strips on my glass patio door near some potted plants, which I suspected were attracting gnats. Within 24 hours, the strips were dotted with tiny flies I hadn’t even noticed before. It was oddly satisfying to see these fly traps quietly doing their job without me having to lift a finger.

One thing I love about these traps is how discreet they are. Unlike plug-in zappers or bulky contraptions, the Catchmaster strips are practically invisible on the glass. There’s no hum, no light, and no fan—just silent, passive pest control. That makes them especially good for spaces where you don’t want distractions, like bedrooms or a home office.

Of course, cleanup is the trade-off. When the strip fills up, you’ll have to peel it off and dispose of it. It’s not glamorous—no one likes being face-to-face with dead bugs—but the adhesive lifts away cleanly without leaving sticky residue behind, unlike some other traps I’ve tried. Given the low price, tossing them out regularly doesn’t feel wasteful.

Overall, these are a fantastic budget-friendly tool for anyone dealing with seasonal indoor fly problems. They won’t replace a full-scale solution if you’re battling a major infestation, but for everyday prevention, they’re hard to beat. I plan to keep a box stashed away for when flies inevitably find their way inside again.
