We toast with ice cream. We stop for an ice cream in a new city. We crack open a cold pint after working hard in the yard. We’ve become whatever the ice cream equivalent of a microbrew-beer-snob/wine-connoisseur is. Ice cream lets us celebrate in a way that feels familiar but unburdened.
