As a shopping writer, I’ve been covering Amazon’s October Prime Day for years. One thing I’ve learned is that you can actually score some of the best deals ahead of the epic shopping event, which runs October 7 and 8 this year. I own a 4-quart Dutch oven from another brand, but I need something bigger. This Le Creuset model is spacious enough for me to roast and braise meat, make large batches of stews, soups, and sauces for freezing, and bake crusty loaves of sourdough. The classic flame color is my favorite, and it’s 24% off ahead of Prime Day. 

Ninja Hand Mixer Immersion Blender Foodi Power System

I’m all about double-duty appliances, like this one from Ninja that functions as a hand mixer and an immersion blender. The base unit has a powerful 750-watt motor that attaches to the mixer and blender. This 5-speed mixer comes with a beater and whisk that can cream together butter and sugar and whip egg whites into stiff peaks. The immersion blender has two speeds and can make silky soups and sauces or delicious smoothies (using the included blending container). One shopper called the appliance a great addition to their kitchen arsenal. “It’s well made, easy to use, cleans up nice, and is lightweight,” they said. 

Takeya Tritan 2-Quart Cold Brew Coffee Maker

I drink cold brew all year round, and I’d rather spend my money on this Takeya cold brew maker than at a coffee shop. It has a generous 2-quart capacity, and it’s so simple to use that we named it the best cold brew maker for beginners. Simply fill the filter with coffee grounds, add water to the pitcher, give it a shake, and let it steep for 12 to 24 hours. During testing, we found that the longer the coffee steeped, the better it tasted, with a fruity, complex flavor and no bitterness.

The containers can additionally be used to store vegetables, so I’ll be using them to keep baby carrots and cut-up peppers fresh until summer 2026 rolls around.

Take the guesswork out of meal prep with ThermoPro’s instant-read thermometer. It can probe the temperature of meat, candy, oil, and bread, providing an accurate read in seconds. The thermometer has a backlight and a magnetic backing to attach to the fridge. “I don’t know how I ever cooked without it,” said one shopper.

I recently learned that I’ve been storing bread and pastries incorrectly by putting them in the fridge. As it turns out, I need this countertop bread box that customers swear keeps loaves fresh for weeks. The lid has a silicone seal and four clasps to keep it locked tightly. A dial on top lets you track how long the contents have been in the box. “We have not been wasting bread products nearly as much since purchase,” said one reviewer.

Bonsenkitchen Powerful Milk Frother

This frother isn’t just for cappuccinos and lattes. Besides milk, it can be used to whisk eggs, matcha, and hot chocolate to a velvety texture. More than 20,000 of the frothers were purchased last month, and one shopper claims it makes rich, creamy foam “better than most coffee shops.” Another loved the frother so much that they “ordered five just to have one everywhere I go.”
